Extreme Makeover: Employee Assistance Edition Promotion

During March and April, Spectrumotion visited 30 Irvine Spectrum area employers to bring free commute assistance to their employees. It was all a part of Spectrumotion’s Extreme Makeover: Employee Assistance Edition Promotion. These 30 employers agreed that providing this assistance is a necessity when their employees are paying well over $3.00 per gallon of gas to commute to work. More than 750 commuters registered to receive free rideshare information and their names were also put in a random drawing for one of three great prizes.

Initially, the promotion was to conclude at the end of April, but due to the huge demand, Spectrumotion is extending the promotion through May and June. Prizes for the original contest period were awarded as planned with duplicate prizes added for the extended period.

Don’t be left out, dates are going quickly and gas prices are rising just as fast. To schedule your company for a Spectrumotion visit, ask an appropriate company official to click on the link below and request a date online or call Lea Gould at 72-SHARE (727-4273).

Metrolink Fare Increase - July 2006

Metrolink's Board of Directors approved a 5.5% increase in all fares effective July 1, 2006 .  Under Metrolink's fare calculation system, an across the board increase in fares affects the cost for some trips more than others because of the continuing implementation of the 10-year fare restructuring plan approved in 2004.

Metrolink has faced significant increases in the costs of diesel fuel in the past year. Prices have spiked at times as high as 76% above the budgeted amount and currently are averaging 36% higher for the year.  Every increase of five cents in the price of fuel results in an additional $300,000 increase in the annual costs to operate Metrolink train service. Fuel costs during the next fiscal year are estimated to be almost $4 million more than the current year's costs.
